Pag

The Croatian city of Pag is a top vacation spot, nestled on the beautiful Adriatic Sea. Its 286 square kilometers encompass the city itself, as well as surrounding villages, and are characterized by rolling hills, shallow valleys, and dense forests in the southwest. Along the coast, cliffs provide breathtaking views of the sparkling sea and nearby islands. Pag is divided into nine municipalities, each with its own unique charms.
The city of Pag, situated in the center of the island, is the largest settlement and the hub of the Pag Municipality. Here, you can visit the Church of Our Lady of Gradac, a 15th century Gothic masterpiece, and the Pag Museum, which houses artifacts from Iliric, Roman, and Venetian settlements, as well as a significant collection of ancient and medieval coins. The city is also home to the delightful Franciscan monastery gardens, featuring a variety of rare and exotic plants and herbs.
Although Pag itself may not have many attractions, it is surrounded by smaller resorts and villages that offer plenty to see and do. Some must-visit spots include Luka Pag, the main harbor, and the stunning Novalja beaches on the north side of the island. You can also explore the ancient Roman town of Caska, visit the city crypt, and see the thousand-year-old olive tree.
In addition to its natural and historical attractions, Pag offers an array of culinary and cultural experiences. From cozy cafes and taverns serving traditional dishes, to lively bars and discos, there's something for everyone. The local cuisine often centers around fish, making it a paradise for seafood lovers.
Overall, Pag is a diverse and stunning destination that promises an unforgettable holiday. Its captivating landscape and vibrant culture will leave you wanting more.
