Rab

The Croatian island of Rab is a top tourist destination, located in the Adriatic Sea. Nestled on the edge of the northern Adriatic, just northeast of Rijeka, Rab is part of the Kvarner Gulf and is easily accessible by ferry or plane from several countries, including Croatia and Italy. Throughout its history, the island of Rab has been under the control of various empires. It was first inhabited by the Illyrians, then the Romans, before the Venetian Empire and the Kingdom of Croatia took control. Later, it was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia before becoming part of the Croatian nation. As a result, the island still has Roman, Venetian, and even Ancient Greek ruins.
