Baška Voda

Baška Voda, a small Croatian beach town located just 9 kilometers east of Makarska, is known for its crystal blue waters, golden beaches, and breathtaking coastal views. Nestled in a shallow bay and protected by the towering Biokovo mountain range, Baška Voda was originally a fishing village, but has since become a popular tourist destination. With its peaceful setting, this town is perfect for relaxation and exploration.
Baška Voda boasts a variety of fine sand and pebble beaches that are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. Beachgoers will love Bačići Beach within the main town, as well as Surf Beach at the foot of the Biokovo mountain range. Additionally, the town offers a range of sports activities such as windsurfing, kiteboarding, standup paddling, and parasailing.
The Biokovo mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop to the town, are a paradise for hikers and mountaineers. Take the Bijac mountain trail from Baška Voda to discover the ancient ruins of Igrališće, reaching an elevation of 1574 meters above sea level. Along the way, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of Croatia's gorgeous landscape.
Baška Voda is also known for its delicious cuisine, with fresh seafood being a local specialty. Mussels and razor clams can be caught right off the coast, and local restaurants serve a variety of traditional Croatian dishes such as pašticada, manistra, and punjena paprika. The town also has a selection of Croatian wines for visitors to try.
At night, Baška Voda, nicknamed "the Golden Sunset City," comes alive with local bars offering nightly entertainment featuring traditional Croatian music and dancing. There are also many places to shop, with art galleries and boutiques filled with souvenirs and local crafts.
