Cavtat

Cavtat is a picturesque town located on Croatia's Dubrovnik Riviera, just 20km south of Dubrovnik. Situated in the Konavle region at the tip of the Riviera and at the foot of the Konavle Valley's hillside villages, Cavtat offers breathtaking views, delicious local cuisine, and waterfront promenades. It's no wonder that Cavtat is one of Croatia's most popular holiday destinations.
Filled with history and culture, Cavtat was settled by the Greeks in the 5th century BC and became home to the skilled boatbuilders and traders known as the Boka people. The town served as a major port for maritime trade in the Adriatic Sea until the 15th century. Today, visitors can still feel the unique energy of Cavtat's seafaring past.
To learn more about Cavtat's history and culture, visitors can explore the Racic Mausoleum, Vlaho Bukovac Gallery, Archaeological Museum, Ethnographic Museum, and Maritime Museum. The charming streets of Cavtat, featuring a blend of Mediterranean and Austro-Hungarian architecture, are perfect for leisurely strolls. The town's waterfront promenades provide a spot to sit and take in the beautiful views and ocean breeze.
Cavtat is also a great destination for outdoor activities, with plenty of trails for walking, biking, and climbing in the Konavle Valley and surrounding hills. Boat charters and water sports like scuba diving and snorkeling are readily available, and the town's beaches, particularly Čilipi Beach and Župa Beach, are great spots to soak up the sun and swim in the Adriatic Sea.
In conclusion, Cavtat is a stunning and peaceful Mediterranean retreat that offers both stunning views and cultural experiences.
